  • BENEFITS OF REGISTERING YOUR PET

    1. They are allowed to fly in the main cabin of a plane or other public transportation.
    2. They are allowed to go almost anywhere a you can go (restaurants, bars, etc) regardless of pet policies.
    3. A landlord or homeowner’s association must provide reasonable accommodation by waiving a no-pet rule or a pet deposit.
    4. Employers must allow service animals in the work place.

    KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

    When you register with USServiceAnimals.org you will receive a card with an explanation of the law and your rights to present to anyone who inquires about your animal, as well as full access to our staff of legal professionals.In order to prove that an animal is an emotional support animal, you may be asked to provide documentation from a licensed professional (doctor, psychiatrist, or other mental health professional) stating that the animal is an essential part of treatment for a disability. A landlord or business may ask you to provide a doctor’s note or they could deny you and your emotional support animal. All airlines require the letter.

SERVICE DOGS

Service dogs are dogs that have been individually trained to perform a specific task for individuals who have disabilities. The disabilities can vary greatly, and so do the tasks that the service dogs perform.

THERAPY DOGS

Therapy dogs are dogs that are used to bring comfort and joy to those who are ill or under poor conditions, such as those who have been affected by a natural disaster.

MOTIONAL SUPPORT DOGS

Emotional support dogs are dogs that provide comfort and support in forms of affection and companionship for an individual suffering from various mental and emotional conditions.
